Will Smith is best known as an Actor/Comedian but most people have no idea how Spiritual he and his wife Jada are. We’ve watched them raise their children to be eclectic and free but the Spiritual journey is a journey taught in their home.
Will grew up learning and exploring his mind. His father made him expand his thinking as a child. “I love living. It’s infectious. It’s something you can’t fake.”
Truth is, every day we must all wake up and stick to the truths which define us. “You have to know who you are and what you believe then be willing to die for it,” says Will.
He says he grew up with the sense that where they were didn’t matter. “We knew we were becoming something greater.”
Talent is natural. Skill is developed by hours and hours of beating on your craft. “I never view myself as talented. Where I excel is in ridiculously sick work ethics.” He encourages others to spend more time developing their crafts and their passions.
His dad tore down a brick wall in front of his business. He told Will and his brother, who was 9 at the time, to rebuild it. “You don’t start trying to build a wall. You take one brick and say I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as possible. Then day by day you lay your bricks and soon you’ll have a wall.”
“If you’re not making someone else’s life better then you’re wasting your time.”
He says the first step before anyone else in the world believes in you, you have to believe in you. “There is no reason to have a Plan B. It only distracts from Plan A.”
